The Kaunas Studies reading room of Kaunas County Public Library (KCPL), which has been operating for almost five decades, invites you to visit! Due to the upcoming reconstruction, it was moved from the library’s building in Oak Grove (Radastų str. 2) to the historical place at K. Donelaičio str. 8, in Room 21 (1st floor).

Why is it worth visiting the Kaunas Studies reading room, when you can find information on the Internet? The answer is simple – in one place there is information that you will not find anywhere else. A large fund of publications about Kaunas and Kaunas residents is waiting for you in the Kaunas Studies reading room.

Kaunas Studies on the internet

For several years now, we have been intensively creating virtual information resources about Kaunas, which are available online. For those interested in the history of Kaunas, we have created an electronic guide "Kaunas: dates and facts", where you will find the most important dates (did you know that Kaunas became the temporary capital of Lithuania on January 2, 1919?), image gallery of Kaunas in various periods, memories of contemporaries, thematic routes, tests and many other useful information.

Those looking for various information about Kaunas are invited to use the KCPL electronic catalog. It contains more than 50 thousand publications about Kaunas: books, newspapers, scientific publications, etc. You can find many different virtual exhibitions (and not only!) about Kaunas in the section “Kraštiečiams” on the KCPL website.
