We preserve and research prints from 15th-20th centuries and disseminate the results of the research. We also digitize objects of cultural heritage.
Publications from the department’s archival fund are available for use at the reading room; bibliographical information is provided.
We are participating in the preparation of united virtual information system of Lithuanian cultural heritage as well as preparation of the national retrospective bibliography. We also prepare indexes of bibliographies as well as exhibitions of publications which analyse the cultural heritage.
We also introduce visitor groups to the Old Prints Exhibition which illustrates history of the book during the 15th-20th centuries. More information can be found on the department’s web site http://knyga.kvb.lt/.
